MEET JACKIE KRUZIE
Jackie found her passion for picture books in Kindergarten when she attended her elementary school’s annual Young Author’s Conference. This dazzling day was dedicated to books, storytelling, and creativity and Jackie couldn’t get enough. Throughout her elementary years she wrote, colored, laminated, and stapled numerous picture books that she read aloud to anyone who would listen.
It is no wonder that she chose a career in books. Jackie earned her Master of Library Science and has worked in both public and school libraries as a Children’s Librarian and Library Director. Her love of kidlit led her to SCBWI where she has been an active member for many years, including serving as Regional Advisor for her North Texas chapter from 2016-2019.
Jackie is the author of MIXED-UP MENAGERIE, a STEM picture book introducing young readers to fascinating animals and their unique traits. She is also a contributing author to a sensitivity and inclusivity training textbook published through the American Library Association educating librarians on how to better serve library users with special needs. As a special needs parent this project is near and dear to her heart.
When not sharing stories or writing her own, Jackie enjoys farm life on a 60-acre farm with her husband where they raise a mess of kids, horses, cows, longhorns, sheep, goats, and a cacophony of chickens, roosters, ducks, and turkeys.

Jackie is excited to join the Clear Fork family focusing on picture books for the Blue Whale Press imprint.
