Chantelle and Burgen Thorne
Once upon a time, two graphic designers had a big dream: they wanted to live in the coutryside with their menagerie of animals and illustrate childrens' books. So they left the big city and drawing on their backgrounds in advertising (Chantelle) and publishing (Burgen), they pooled resources and started illustrating together - two (married) people, one artist (sure that's unusual, but that's art). Their illustrations have featured in hundreds of schoolbooks, textbooks and other printed media, with their latest project (a reading series for Pearson SA for which they created a cast of quirky characters and sets) spanning 132 readers over the last three and a half years. 'The Real Farmer in the Dell' is their first book for Clear Fork and they are very excited (especially 'cos it has lots of animals in it). Chantelle and Burgen have great fun combining traditonal media with the latest tech and they just love creating for kids. On meeting new people they take turns at answering 'what do you do for a living?' because they get such a kick out of saying 'we illustrate childrens' books'!
They are represented by The Organisation in the UK and the USA.
